Bruno Mesquita is a art director, photographer and filmmaker with experience in both commercial and documentary projects. He works across image capture, editing, and post-production, with a focus on visual detail and storytelling. Bruno collaborates with brands, studios, and cultural institutions, producing content ranging from promotional videos to event coverage and photoshoots. 

He has worked with clients and partners such as Amplificasom, Mecha Studio, ZigurArtists, Porto Design Biennale, Casa do Design, and esad—idea (Research in Design and Art). His work has been featured in media outlets including P3 (Público), Time Out, Comunidade Cultura e Arte, and Gerador.

This artistic direction and photography project was developed in collaboration with SLNC, an artist, with the goal of shaping the visual identity of his press kit. Through a visual language aligned with his sonic universe, the work aimed to reflect his aesthetics, presence and energy, creating a cohesive and representative image of his artistic practice.

The visual approach was guided by her distinct sound and performative identity, aiming to translate her creative language into a set of images that convey coherence and intensity.

03.da Maddalena

I met Bruno, an 83-year-old man from La Maddalena. He has spent his whole life at sea, and the moment you step onto his boat you can feel it. The way he points to the rocks and tells stories about the islands makes it seem as if the sea itself is speaking through him.
In the middle of the day, anchored in a small bay, he cooked a simple pasta with mussels for us. Nothing elaborate, just fresh mussels, garlic and a splash of wine. And yet, in that moment, it tasted like the true Mediterranean, a dish infused with the memory of a life lived on the water.
That day was more than a journey, it was entering his world, a place where time slows down and the sea holds everything together.

Sardus is a personal project developed during the month of August in Sardinia, where I immersed myself in the exploration and documentation of its singular landscapes. Between rocky mountains and crystal-clear beaches, I investigated the dialogue between the island’s natural strength and its cultural dimension. The result is a poetic and visual cartography that seeks to capture both the vastness and the intimacy of these places.

Odyssey is an ongoing project that brings together a constellation of landscapes I have encountered since 2018, tracing a journey through Portugal, Spain, Italy and Turkey. More than a geographical archive, it emerges as a personal map of crossings, encounters and transformations, a visual meditation on movement and belonging. Each image becomes a fragment of a larger narrative, where territories intertwine and time reveals itself as a continuous passage.

The photography captures the strength, elegance and potential of their horses, highlighting the care, transparency and long-term vision that define their unique approach to breeding, training and management.

08.TURBO

TURBO was a monthly party in Porto that celebrates latin rhythms and urban sounds with raw, inclusive energy, bringing together diverse bodies and cultures on a vibrant dance floor. For this special edition, a limited object was released — a small jerrican — serving as a symbol of the speed, and intensity that define TURBO’s spirit. The visual work combined references to rave culture, metal, and urban friction, resulting in a visual narrative that turned the ephemerality of the party into a cult object.
09.Encontros do Moínho
2024 photography, video, documentary
Encontros do Moinho was a three-day event organized by the Associação Cultural Tirsense, featuring concerts, workshops, lectures, and social gatherings. The program focused on folk music and the revival of the hurdy-gurdy, a medieval instrument with historical roots in Portugal. The event emphasized cultural exchange and the preservation of musical traditions.

"Project, Theory, and Criticism in 20 Iberian Architects, 1950-1989" is the title of the exhibition that opened at the Faculty of Architecture of the University of Porto, resulting from the research project 'Housing in the Iberian Peninsula: architecture, theory, and criticism in the 1960s and 1970s', developed by Researcher Tiago Lopes Dias.
